Nearby Hospitals - Support Page
This app displays a list of nearby Hospitals based on user's GPS location. If the device does not have a GPS then it will obtain user's location from the IP Address. We do not store the location inforation in any way.
You can launch the app by cliking on the application Tile on the Start Screen.
You will see the following splash screen once the app is launched.
This application needs access to your Location Information. Please read our privacy policy to know what information is collected by the app. Once you launch the application, following screen will be displayed asking you to share your location information. You may click on Yes button to share your location information. If you click on No button, the app will use Los Angeles, CA as your default location. You will still be able to use this app and search hospitals by Zip Code.
After you respond to above dialog box, you will see following Main Screen.
The user can launch different features of the app by clicking (or tapping) on the different sections of the Main Screen.
1. List Of Nearby Hospitals: The user can click on different hospitals to see the location of the selected hospital on map.
2. Total No: Displays the total number of hospitals found. The maximum number of hospitals this app can find is 20.
3. Hospital Details: User can click on this button to navigate to the Yahoo Local page of this hospital.
4. Hospital Website: User can click on this button to navigate to the Hospital's website.
5. Map Area: This area displays user's location (blue star icon) and selectd hospital on the map.
Once the user selects a specific hospital in the list, the hospital location will be displayed on the map and the two buttons will become active if the Yahoo Local and Hospital Website url exist as displayed on following screen.
When the user clicks on Hospital Details button, they will see Yahoo Local listing for this hostpital on a different page as shown below.
When the user clicks on Hospital Website button, they will see the hospital website on a different page as shown below.
To search hospitals by Zip Code, bring up the bottom app bar first. You will see following buttons on the bottom app bar.
This page has following functions:
1. Search by Zip Code: Click on this button to bring up another window where the user can enter zip code.
2. Current Location: User can click this button to search hospitals based on users current (obtained by GPS or IP Address) location.
3. Refresh: User can click this button to refresh data on the screen.
Search By Zip Code
Once the user clicks on this button on the app bar, it will bring up following window where the user can enter the zip code to find nearby hospitals by specific zip code.The results will be displayed for the searched zip code.
The user can click on a specific hospital to view it on the map.
